Overview

Dr. R. Clinton Ohlers is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong with the Faith and Science Collaborative Research Forum and Faith and Global Engagement under the Faculties of the Social Sciences and Humanities.

Dr. Ohlers has recently completed his first book manuscript, The Birth of the Conflict Between Science and Religion (in process). His current monograph project delves where that work began, re-situating key elements of early seventeenth-century natural philosophy in England and France. A unifying theme is his interest in past and contemporary understandings of divine action in relationship to natural philosophy and modern science. Prior to coming to Hong Kong, Dr. Ohlers held a postdoctoral fellowship with the Templeton funded Creation Project at the Carl F. H. Henry Center for Theological Understanding at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Dr. Ohlers received his PhD in History from the University of Pennsylvania, where he also served as a lecturer on science and religion.
