Kathryn Applegate is Resources Editor at BioLogos.
She holds bachelor’s degrees in biophysics and mathematics from Centenary College of Louisiana (Shreveport, LA) and a PhD in computational cell biology from The Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla, CA). While at Scripps she felt a strong sense of calling to help build bridges between the Christian church and the scientific community. In 2010, she joined BioLogos, where she has the privilege of writing, speaking, and working with a wide variety of scholars and educators to develop new resources aimed at science/faith integration. Kathryn co-edited with Jim Stump How I Changed My Mind About Evolution (InterVarsity Press, 2016) and curates the BioLogos Common Questions. Kathryn is Project Leader for BioLogos INTEGRATE, a curriculum supplement for high school biology. She is excited about the potential for BioLogos to equip parents and teachers to raise up the next generation of Christian students who approach science with wonder, curiosity, perseverance, and wisdom. Kathryn, her husband Brent, and their two young children live in Grand Rapids, MI, where they enjoy snow, tulips, sandy beaches, and autumn leaves.
