Overview

Dr Jonathan R. Topham is a Senior Lecturer in History of Science at the University of Leeds, UK.

His research relates mainly to science and religion, and to the history of printed communication in science, in late Georgian Britain. Among his co-publications are Science Periodicals in Nineteenth-Century Britain: Constructing Scientific Communities (Chicago University Press, forthcoming 2020), Science in the Nineteenth-Century Periodical: Reading the Magazine of Nature (Cambridge University Press, 2004), Culture and Science in the Nineteenth-Century Media (Ashgate, 2004), and Science in the Nineteenth-Century Periodical: An Electronic Index (HRI Online, 2005). He is currently completing a monograph about the Bridgewater Treatises entitled Reading the Book of Nature: Science, Religion and the Culture of Print in the Age of Reform. He is a Fellow of the International Society for Science and Religion.
